Project details

  • The client, a former pilot trainer with a sharp eye for design, had recently undertaken an architectural extension to unify their kitchen, dining, and living spaces. They were looking for a kitchen that would complement the striking arched ceiling and exposed beams, while still offering warmth, subtlety, and practicality. A soft, contemporary style was key, with plenty of functionality for entertaining, everyday living, and integrating existing appliances.

  • We specified Nobilia’s Touch range in a dual finish of Magnolia White and Sand, creating gentle tonal contrast across the kitchen. The central island, finished in Sand, anchors the space with warmth and definition. Radianz quartz worktops in Verona Verde introduce soft veining and a refined surface finish. Throughout, we maintained clean lines and symmetry, carefully adapting cabinet depths to accommodate structural quirks without ever compromising the overall aesthetic.

  • This kitchen is full of smart design solutions, including a run of reduced-depth drawers to maximise usable space while maintaining visual consistency. Behind the bar area, the tall cabinet cleverly houses the client’s consumer unit and electrical intake, while the overhead cupboards were expertly cut to follow the sloping stairwell. The bar area itself features a repurposed wine fridge and a secondary fridge freezer for drinks and overflow. Around the corner, a built-in coffee nook with backlit shelving provides a dedicated space for everyday rituals.

  • We managed the full design and fit of this project, tailoring every element to work seamlessly with the newly extended layout. From hand-scribing cabinetry to dealing with existing structural constraints, every detail was considered. The client's own lighting design and distinctive architectural features were embraced as part of the creative process, resulting in a kitchen that feels as personal as it is practical.

  • The final kitchen is calm, elegant, and thoughtfully executed. Its layout flows effortlessly between zones, and the layered neutral palette allows the beautiful oak ceiling beams and arched structure to take centre stage. The client now enjoys a space that not only complements the home’s new layout, but supports their everyday living beautifully.
