The brief was to transform the kitchen into a high-functioning, minimal space where cooking, relaxing, and hosting could all happen comfortably. The homeowners wanted a clean look with durable materials, integrated appliances, and just enough character to make it feel unique. Seating at the peninsula was essential, with enough room to gather for breakfast, watch TV, or chat over a glass of wine while cooking.

The kitchen is from Ballerina’s handleless PUR range in Dolphin Grey, a soft, versatile shade with a lacquered laminate finish. Durable and elegant, the cabinetry is complemented by Laminam porcelain worktops in a coordinating tone. The true showpiece is the splashback: a kinetic image by Southern Counties Glass, selected and customised by the client from a library of high-resolution abstract artworks. AEG black gloss appliances and a Quooker Flex tap add high-spec performance with a sleek, contemporary feel.

Functionality was front of mind throughout. Twin sinks were installed side by side, one featuring a waste disposal reflecting how the client preferred to use their old kitchen. The peninsula seating area was carefully calculated around the number of people who’d use it, with space optimised for both movement and comfort. A downdraft extractor was integrated into the hob to preserve the clean lines and maximise storage above.

We provided full kitchen design, supply and installation for this project. The design was refined through careful consultation, particularly regarding the space required for seating, the splashback proportions, and the downdraft hob arrangement. We also coordinated the glass supplier, ensuring the final image sequence flowed seamlessly across the panels.

The finished kitchen is practical, polished and personal. It offers a contemporary layout with thoughtful features, brought together by a strong visual identity. The client was thrilled, especially with how the glass splashback turned out, and now enjoys a space that works beautifully for everyday living.
