Green Handleless Kitchen

The homeowners were building a rear extension and wanted a contemporary kitchen that felt clean and spacious but still warm and inviting. Functionality was key, and the design needed to take into consideration existing architectural elements to create a space that felt calm and cohesive.

The kitchen features a true handleless design using the Ballerina system, with tall units finished in ‘Light Pepper’ SMARTGLAS, a soft, light grey acrylic glass that’s highly durable and beautifully matt. In contrast, the island was spray-lacquered in a bespoke RAL green for a rich pop of colour. Brushed brass handle rails added warmth and sophistication. Worktops are ‘Cold Spring’ quartz by Stone Sense, chosen for their textural depth and ability to tie both colour palettes together. Appliances include a Caple gas hob and AEG’s matte black range, creating a confident, modern edge.

A highlight of the design is a stainless steel-fronted tambour roll-up unit with a continuous quartz worktop running inside, complete with integrated sockets, the perfect hideaway for small appliances. A pop-up power socket with USB-C brings extra functionality to the island, while discreet lighting within the handle rails enhances the ambient feel. To maximise the layout, a custom-depth base unit was manufactured to conceal a wall return, allowing the quartz to flow seamlessly across the space.

Though Kitchen Lifestyles weren’t responsible for the full extension, the kitchen was fully designed, supplied, and installed by the team. As always, we worked collaboratively with the client and builder to ensure every element aligned. From recess lighting to bespoke cabinet sizes, the result is a highly tailored fit, delivered with clarity and care.

The end result is a kitchen that manages to be both bold and elegant. It's a space that feels both distinctive and effortless, and the clients couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out.
