Green Shaker Kitchen
Petersfield

This kitchen is full of warmth and subtle character, with soft textures, a calming green palette, and beautifully crafted details throughout. It’s a space that feels inviting and purposeful, blending classic style with personal meaning, designed and fitted for a very special pair of clients: Derek’s parents.

Project details

  • As part of a conservatory conversion, the clients were looking for a new kitchen that would bring comfort, quality, and a sense of home. The design needed to feel timeless, while offering practical solutions for daily use and entertaining. Derek’s parents were happy to lean on his expertise, trusting him to shape a space that reflected both their lifestyle and his design sensibility.

  • Derek selected the Nobilia Cascada range for its elegant Shaker styling and adaptable features. In Reed Green, the cabinetry introduces a gentle, natural tone that works beautifully with the room’s soft light and newly opened layout. The Fog Polished quartz worktops from Stone Sense were chosen for their subtle depth and durability, offering a cool, smooth contrast to the warm cabinetry.

Appliances were all by NEFF, selected for their reliability and ease of use. The combination microwave, single oven, and induction hob give the space its culinary backbone, complemented by a stainless steel undermount sink and practical pull-out bins for efficient daily living.

  • One of the kitchen’s standout features is the bespoke curved peninsula. Built on-site from a handmade frame and cladded with acoustic wall panelling, the design introduces a gentle, rounded form that softens the transition between the kitchen and the rest of the space. It’s a subtle yet effective way to enhance flow and create a more organic, inviting layout.

  • Storage was carefully planned to keep surfaces clear and functionality high. Every element, from bin systems to cabinetry configurations, was installed with a craftsman’s eye for precision and finish. The result is a kitchen that’s not only visually balanced, but genuinely easy to live with.

  • While we weren’t responsible for the full conservatory-to-kitchen extension, the kitchen itself was designed and managed entirely in-house. The fitting was a hands-on process, completed with care and attention to every last detail, made all the more rewarding by its family connection.

  • This is more than a beautiful space, this family project is rooted in trust. With its tactile finishes, soft tones, and fluid design, Derek’s parent’s family kitchen is now the backdrop to everyday moments and family gatherings alike.
