Aqua and Havana Oak Handleless Kitchen
Alton

A contemporary kitchen designed to solve the unsolvable. This inviting, two-tone kitchen pairs soft aqua cabinetry with warm wood accents for a space that feels calm, personal, and effortlessly functional. It’s hard to believe this bright and open layout began as a challenging brief that others said couldn’t be done, but at Kitchen Lifestyles, creative problem-solving is all part of the process.

Project details

  • Make space where there is none.

The clients wanted a modern kitchen with a fresh, coastal palette, combining soft colours with natural textures. Their dream layout included a generous breakfast bar or peninsula, something no other kitchen company had managed to achieve due to the tight footprint and the need to include a wall-mounted boiler and washing machine.

They wanted the space to feel bright and cohesive, with plenty of storage, a wood-effect finish for warmth, and room for practical appliances, including a large fridge freezer and sink.

  • Two-tone cabinetry and bespoke touches.

To meet the brief, we used the Nobilia Touch range in Aqua for the main cabinetry, paired with accents from the Structura range in Havana Oak. This gave us the tonal contrast the clients wanted, while keeping the palette soft and modern. The worktops are White Dove quartz from Stone Sense, a clean, durable surface that reflects light and softens the transition between colours.

We installed a Caple sink with a pull-out tap to maximise usability in a compact run, while hidden lift-up doors reveal clever storage for the client's toaster, microwave, and coffee machine, all designed to minimise clutter and keep the space feeling calm.

  • The key design feature here is the peninsula. After the client was told by a number of different companies that it wouldn’t be possible to include a breakfast bar, Paul designed a completely bespoke solution that integrated:

    • A concealed washing machine under the breakfast bar

    • A boiler housed within the cabinetry

    • An extended worktop to provide bar seating

    • Storage above and around the awkward zones to make every inch count

We also created a custom cabinet to go above the client’s 700mm-wide fridge freezer, eliminating visual gaps and making the kitchen feel polished and bespoke.

  • This was a fully managed Kitchen Lifestyles project. From removal of the old kitchen and reconfiguration of the layout to installation, appliance fitting, and all finishing touches, our team handled every detail. Electrics, plumbing, and decorating were coordinated in-house, ensuring the project stayed on time and stress-free for the client.

  • The result is a tailored kitchen that feels warm and uplifting, with storage and style working in harmony. Most importantly, it proved that what others called “impossible” was simply a matter of the right design thinking. The clients are thrilled with the result, a kitchen that works beautifully for the client’s lifestyle and feels like home.
