Light Neutral Shaker Kitchen

Our client came to us looking for inspiration and guidance on how best to open up their existing kitchen, which was small, enclosed and received minimal natural light. We recommended removing the wall that leads to a small utility and cloakroom, creating a larger kitchen where natural light can flow more freely. The client also chose to extend the back of the property, creating a new bootroom and utility area designed to continue the look and feel of the kitchen. 

This kitchen features shaker-style cabinetry, crafted by an English manufacturer. The solid ash doors are painted in a soft neutral shade, while warm oak-effect carcasses add natural contrast and character to the design. 

Our client sourced the 30mm Calacatta Gold Soft quartz worktops from a local fabricator, with their delicate veining complementing the warm neutral palette beautifully. 

A carefully selected suite of NEFF appliances ensures the kitchen works just as well as it looks. A venting hob keeps the cooking area streamlined and the eyeline clear, complemented by a Slide&Hide single oven, a combination oven, and a warming drawer. At the same time, an integrated dishwasher maintains the clean appearance of the cabinetry. 

Removing the dividing wall was key to unlocking the potential of the original space, allowing us to create a much more open and light-filled kitchen. The addition of the new bootroom and utility also allowed us to carry the kitchen furniture through into these areas, creating a consistent and considered feel across the newly configured spaces. 

The finished kitchen feels a world away from the small, dark room it replaced. The open layout, light neutral cabinetry, warm oak details and brushed brass accents come together to create a bright and inviting space that feels both timeless and perfectly suited to the home.
